James Therel Ivey, 90, of Sulphur Springs passed away on March 12, 2013, in Sulphur Springs.
He was born on July 18, 1922, to Flora and Sam Ivey in Ladonia. James was a plumber and a veteran, having served in the United States Army in WW II.
Survivors include his son, James A. Ivey and wife Billie of Commerce; his daughters, Darlene Rudd and husband Robert of Campbell and Glenda Harness and husband Danny of Sulphur Springs; his brothers, Ed Ivey of Dallas and Kenneth Ivey of Sulphur Springs; his sister, Ethel McKay of Wolfe City; three grandsons; three granddaughters; three great-grandsons; and six great-granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Whisenant; two brothers; two sisters; grandsons Wayne Harness and Bobby Rudd; great-grandson Austin Harness; and, his great-great-granddaughter, Baylee Rudd.
Visitation is at 1 p.m. today at Jones-Walker & Son Funeral Home followed by his funeral service at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial with full military honors follows at Ladonia Cemetery in Ladonia.
Pallbearers will be his nephews.

Funeral services for Kelly Walker Jones of Sulphur Springs were conducted at 10 a.m., May 11, in the West Oaks Funeral Home chapel with Bro. Hoyt Scoggins officiating and Jay Porterfield assisting. Interment followed at Restlawn Memorial Park with Lance Looney, Grant Looney, Kyle Smith, Ryan Reed, Taylor Pace and Brad McFadden serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer was Trey Elliott.
