Counterfeit City of Commerce Checks going around Commerce

COMMERCE — A press release was recently issued from the city of Commerce:

The City of Commerce is asking that all check cashing stores, banks and other establishments be aware of Counterfeit City of Commerce Checks.  The City has been notified there are Counterfeit Checks being presented for payment at local establishments and out of town businesses.  City of Commerce Officials are asking that in the event a City of Commerce Check is presented for payment, please verify the funds through the City’s Accounting Department or the City’s Financial Institution.



The City is asking that if a Counterfeit City of Commerce check is presented to your establishment for payment, that you notify your local Police Department immediately.

  • Kelly Jones

    Funeral services for Kelly Walker Jones of Sulphur Springs were conducted at 10 a.m., May 11, in the West Oaks Funeral Home chapel with Bro. Hoyt Scoggins officiating and Jay Porterfield assisting. Interment followed at Restlawn Memorial Park with Lance Looney, Grant Looney, Kyle Smith, Ryan Reed, Taylor Pace and Brad McFadden serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer was Trey Elliott.
