COMMERCE —
Julia Robinson, director of curriculum for Commerce Independent School District, was named interim principal of Commerce High School.
The position was held by first year principal Adam Rupert, who is awaiting a March 21 court appearance at 8:30 a.m. to face charges of driving while intoxicated that stem from a Nov. 14, 2012, arrest in Collin County.
Commerce ISD is holding a special meeting tonight at 6 p.m. inside the Commerce ISD Professional Development Room on Washington Street.

Funeral services for Kelly Walker Jones of Sulphur Springs were conducted at 10 a.m., May 11, in the West Oaks Funeral Home chapel with Bro. Hoyt Scoggins officiating and Jay Porterfield assisting. Interment followed at Restlawn Memorial Park with Lance Looney, Grant Looney, Kyle Smith, Ryan Reed, Taylor Pace and Brad McFadden serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer was Trey Elliott.
