Cowboys legend Pearson to be guest speaker
The Commerce Economic Development Corporation (EDC) is hoping to score another touchdown with the 15th Annual Business and Industry Luncheon next month.
Dallas Cowboys legend Drew Pearson is the guest speaker for the event, scheduled for April 15 in the Sam Rayburn Memorial Student Center on the campus of Texas A&M University-Commerce. It marks a return visit for Pearson, who was also the speaker at last year’s luncheon.
If for no other reason, Cowboys fans will forever remember Pearson for being the receiver of the “Hail Mary” pass from Roger Staubach in the 1975 playoffs, arguably one of the most famous plays in National Football League (NFL) history.
During his career, Pearson was credited with 489 receptions, 7,822 receiving yards and 50 touchdowns. Pearson was named one of the Top 20 Pro Football All-Time Wide Receivers and was also named to the NFL 1970s All-Decade Team. Currently, Pearson serves as an analyst for NFL games.
