Chautele “Mia” Cooksey, 41, passed away June 4, 2012, in Miami, Fla.
Mia was born Aug. 15, 1970, and grew up in the Pecan Gap and Commerce area, but soon moved to Connecticut to start her schooling and career as a skin care specialist. She moved to Florida in 1999 and built a successful massage therapy business.
She is survived by her mother, Deborah Siebenhausen-Kiley (Pecan Gap); two sisters, Diesa Rupert (Dallas) and Rama Tomasik (White Settlement); one brother, Condy Hammer (Saginaw); lots of nieces and nephews; and two handsome sons who carry on her beautiful spirit and that amazing smile, Kaden Vega, 12, and Ethan Santiago, 9, both of Miami, Fla.
A memorial event will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Texas A&M-Commerce Campus, Rayburn Student Center,Traditions Room (212).
The family would like to extend an open invitation to friends and family and all those who knew Mia to join them for this informal celebration of her life and memory.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Heart Association in memory of Chautele “Mia” Cooksey.

Funeral services for Kelly Walker Jones of Sulphur Springs were conducted at 10 a.m., May 11, in the West Oaks Funeral Home chapel with Bro. Hoyt Scoggins officiating and Jay Porterfield assisting. Interment followed at Restlawn Memorial Park with Lance Looney, Grant Looney, Kyle Smith, Ryan Reed, Taylor Pace and Brad McFadden serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer was Trey Elliott.
