BERNICE WOODS

WOLFE CITY — Bernice Woods, 88, of Wolfe City passed away April 4, 2012.

Bernice was born in Roosevelt, Okla., on Sept. 12, 1923, to Ezell and Ida Johnson McBeth. She enjoyed sewing, cooking and renewing old furniture.

She was married to R.C. Woods, who preceded her in death in 2010.

Left to cherish her memories are her three sons, Roger L. Woods of Dallas, Bobby R. Woods (Gwen) of Watauga and Marvin D. Woods of  Wolfe City; two daughters, Annie Woods of Prosper and Gwendolyn Jenkins of Greenville; three sisters, Betty Ingram of Fort Worth, Betty Jo Ann French of Phoenix Ariz., and Gladys Gabriell of Oklahoma City, Okla.; her brother, Robert McBeth of Albuquerque, N.M.; five grandchildren, Antonya Sterling, Saquinya Woods, Shane Woods, Maya Woods and Brittany Woods; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband; a host of brothers and sisters; her granddaughter, Kisha Nevils; two great-granddaughters, Kishanna Nevils and Zekisha Nevils; and her great-grandson, Anton Woods.

Funeral services were at 1 p.m., April 7, at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Wolfe City with Rev. Melva Hill officiating. Burial followed at Mount Carmel West Cemetery in Wolfe City, under the direction of Jones-Walker & Son Funeral Home of Commerce.

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Green Valley Nursing Home in Watauga and to the Heart to Heart Staff.

    Funeral services for Kelly Walker Jones of Sulphur Springs were conducted at 10 a.m., May 11, in the West Oaks Funeral Home chapel with Bro. Hoyt Scoggins officiating and Jay Porterfield assisting. Interment followed at Restlawn Memorial Park with Lance Looney, Grant Looney, Kyle Smith, Ryan Reed, Taylor Pace and Brad McFadden serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer was Trey Elliott.
