A funeral services for Richard Lee (R.L.) Wood, 81, of Cumby will be held at the Brashear Baptist Church at 11 a.m., April 5, with Bro. David Burns and Bro. Harvey Snider officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery, east of Cumby. Jones-Walker & Son Funeral Home in Commerce is in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers will be Jack Holley, Stan Webb, Arlie Bryant, Jason Holley, Dustin Holley and Shawn Wood.
Richard Wood passed away April 1, 2012, in a Tyler hospital.
He was born Feb. 28, 1931, in Donley County, Texas to William H. (Bill) and Ruby Hefner Wood, and he was a United States Air Force veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Elaine, whom he married on Sept. 19, 1974; one son, Kelly Wood and wife Sandy of Vernon; one stepson, Troy Watson of Waco; four grandchildren, Sarah Nielson and Joshua Wood of Shreveport, La., and Cara Wood and Shawn Wood of Lampasas; four great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Mason, Christian, and Thomas; a daughter-in-law, Sharon Wood of Lampasas; and one brother, Bill Wood of Childress, TX.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Robert Wood; his sister, Shirley Weatherford; and his brother, James Wood.

Funeral services for Kelly Walker Jones of Sulphur Springs were conducted at 10 a.m., May 11, in the West Oaks Funeral Home chapel with Bro. Hoyt Scoggins officiating and Jay Porterfield assisting. Interment followed at Restlawn Memorial Park with Lance Looney, Grant Looney, Kyle Smith, Ryan Reed, Taylor Pace and Brad McFadden serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer was Trey Elliott.
