COMMERCE —
Don “Wayne” Newman (Dr Pepper man), born April 29, 1937, passed away Dec. 21, 2012, at his residence with family and friends by his side.
He had worked at Coca-Cola and Walmart.
He proudly served his country with the United States Coast Guard.
He is survived by his wife, Carol; his stepdaughter, Sherri Bond and husband Jessi of Greenville; his son, Don Newman Jr. and wife Linda of Highland Village; his son, Bobby Newman of California; his daughter, April Newman and husband Howard of Dallas; his stepgranddaughter, Jennifer Bond and fiancé Dalton Weems of Greenville; and, Moochie, his constant campanion and best friend.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George Frank and Euna Newman, and his sons, Mathew and Michael Newman.
The family would like to thank American Hospice, T.J. Cline and Dr. Rick Selvaggi.
Committal services with full military honors were conducted by the Hopkins County Military Coalition at 2 p.m., Jan. 6, at Rosemound Cemetery in Commerce under the direction of Jones-Walker & Son Funeral Home of Commerce.

Funeral services for Kelly Walker Jones of Sulphur Springs were conducted at 10 a.m., May 11, in the West Oaks Funeral Home chapel with Bro. Hoyt Scoggins officiating and Jay Porterfield assisting. Interment followed at Restlawn Memorial Park with Lance Looney, Grant Looney, Kyle Smith, Ryan Reed, Taylor Pace and Brad McFadden serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer was Trey Elliott.
