FARMERSVILLE — Michael Leon Acker, 64, passed away Feb. 24, 2012, in Farmersville.

He was a graduate of Commerce High School and received a bachelor of arts degree from East Texas State University in 1974. He loved playing golf, going to Nascar, playing tennis with daughter Taylor and was a fan of wrestling and the Von Eric family.

Michael was born in Dallas Feb. 23, 1948, to Mae Dell Speight and Leon Acker who preceded him in death.

Survivors include his former wife, Delanie Denison of Farmersville; his daughters, Melissa Lynn Smith and Melanie Lane Littlefield, both of Greenville, Michele Lea Robinson of Brashear and Taylor Mae Acker of Farmersville; and, his grandchildren, Jacob and Jordan Beeler of Cooper, Ty Robinson of Brashear and Lyndsea Smith of Greenville.

Visitation was at 10 a.m., Feb. 28, at Jones-Walker & Son Funeral Home. A procession left the funeral home for graveside services at Sonora Cemetery at 11 a.m.

Funeral services for Kelly Walker Jones of Sulphur Springs were conducted at 10 a.m., May 11, in the West Oaks Funeral Home chapel with Bro. Hoyt Scoggins officiating and Jay Porterfield assisting. Interment followed at Restlawn Memorial Park with Lance Looney, Grant Looney, Kyle Smith, Ryan Reed, Taylor Pace and Brad McFadden serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer was Trey Elliott.
