COMMERCE —
Norma Jean Moore entered into life eternal on July 22, 2012, after battling multiple ailments.
Jean, as she preferred to be called, married the love of her life, Wadie Moore, in October 1952. She was a dedicated caregiver to Wadie after he was grievously wounded in action during the Korean War. Wadie preceded her in death after 52 years of marriage.
Jean was a homemaker, librarian, a warm and caring wife, mother, proud grandmother and unfaltering friend. She was born in Commerce in 1935 to Hollis Holt and Lillian Jackson Henderson.
Her parents; her brother, Don Henderson; and his son, Christopher Henderson, also preceded Jean in death.
Two sons, Kevin Moore and wife Susan of Roswell, N.M., and Quinn Moore and wife Karen and her grandson, Stacey, all of Cumby, survive Jean. Also surviving her are one sister, Paula Markman of Tucson, Ariz.; her nephew, Craig Henderson of Irving; and a niece, Holly Burlison of Irving.
Her funeral will be conducted at 4 p.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church, 1401 Washington in Commerce. A brief graveside service will be held at Shiloh Cemetery, FM 1531, Klondike.
A viewing will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Jones-Walker and Son Funeral Home, 1209 Live Oak Street, Commerce.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Moore, Quinn Moore, Stacey Moore, Joe Spinato, Edward Earl Moore and Craig Henderson. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Thomas Selvaggi and members of the First Marine Division, H37.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Wadie M. Moore Endowment at Texas A&M, Commerce, First Baptist Church of Commerce or to a favorite charity.
