Two Commerce women have pleaded not guilty to allegations of dealing cocaine.
Barbara Price and Antha Relford were both the subject of sealed indictments issued last month by the Hunt County grand jury. The charges became public this week during each of the defendant’s arraignment hearings in the 354th District Court.
Price and Relford were each indicted on one count of delivery of a controlled substance, namely cocaine, in an amount of less than one gram, in connection with separate incidents.
Judge Richard A. Beacom accepted the pleas and scheduled tentative trial dates of Aug. 2, 2010 for both Price and Relford.
The charge is a state jail felony, punishable upon conviction by a maximum sentence of from 180 days to two years in a state jail, with an optional fine of up to $10,000.
