The Commerce Tigers pitched a shutout game against the Howe Bulldogs Friday night, with a final score of 46-0.
Junior receiver Bran Kelley helped propel the Tigers with three touchdowns in the first half. He scored on catches of 49 yards and 33 yards and also on a 53-yard scoring run.
Senior Buck Wilson notched a 23-yard touchdown reception as well and senior running back Kalyn Smith added a 4-yard touchdown run to make the halftime score 33-0 Commerce.
Commerce scored twice more in the second half on Howe mistakes, with a 1-yard run from junior quarterback Sam Wells and a 36-yard catch by sophomore receiver D’Lance Sharp.
Wells ended the game 13-of-20 passing for 221 yards and four touchdowns.
Commerce improved to 5-3 for the season and 3-1 in district play. Howe is now 2-6 and 0-4.
Next week, the Commerce Tigers host the Farmersville Fightin’ Farmers on Senior Night.
