Robbery indictments filed against four Commerce men in connection with a 2007 incident were dismissed Tuesday.
Brandon Kay Bickley, 18; Devir Jackson Douglas, 20; Jeffrey Blair Felts, 20; and Ian Robert Morehouse, 18; were each indicted by the Hunt County grand jury in October of last year on one count of robbery. All of the defendants have listed addresses in Commerce on the indictments, except for Douglas, who listed an address in Campbell.
All four were alleged to have stolen a wallet from a male victim in Commerce on Dec. 2, 2007, kicking and hitting the victim in the process and the defendants were all scheduled to go to trial next Monday, June 8.
The Hunt County District Attorney’s Office sought the dismissal of the indictments, after all four defendants agreed to enter into a one-year pre-trial diversion program with the district attorney’s office.
Judge Richard A. Beacom agreed to dismiss the charges during a pretrial hearing Tuesday in the 354th District Court.
A fifth defendant, Mortez Demond Kimble, pleaded guilty to the charge in December and was placed on five years of probation. That probation was extended for an additional five years and Kimble was sentenced to prison Tuesday after having two unrelated probations revoked.
