Five people were arrested during a drug bust at the Crosswind Apartments Friday.
Tactical officers with the Commerce Police Department served a search warrant at an apartment in the complex around 5:30 a.m. Friday. The warrant was obtained after a lengthy investigation into drug trafficking at the residence, according to Commerce Police Chief Kerry Crews.
Officers found four men and one woman inside the apartment. They also found a large amount of a substance believed to be marijuana, electronic scales and cash.
Everyone inside the residence was arrested and transported to Commerce PD for booking. They were Dow Gene Guynes, 23, of Commerce; Brandon Wayne Guynes, 21, of Commerce; Lee Clark Wallace, 22, of Campbell; Donald Clint Fugitt, 23, of Cumby and Natasha Desiree Hamm, 21, of Cumby.
All were charged with possession of marijuana over four ounces, but less than five pounds. They were arraigned by Justice of the Peace Jennifer Reeves. Bond was set at $15,000 each.
This case is still under investigation and more charges are likely.
