Commerce citizen holds car burglar at gunpoint

COMMERCE — Just before midnight on Jan. 12, the Commerce Police Department pulled up to a house on the 2800 block of Bois D’arc to find a man being held at gunpoint.

According to the homeowner, his daughter woke him when she saw 32 year-old Moses Miller breaking into a friends car. The report then states that the homeowner subsequently pulled his weapon, confronted Miller and held him at gunpoint until the police officers arrived.

Miller was found to have an outstanding warrant with CPD for possession of drug paraphernalia and two counts of burglary of a motor vehicle.

Miller was booked and transported to the Hunt County jail where he posted two bonds of $2,000 for the counts of burglary of a motor vehicle and is now awaiting trial.
